Home Visitor

Are you passionate about feline welfare and have an understanding of cat care?
Are you able to match cats to suitable home environments?
Are you a confident communicator?
Are you level headed and able to deal with sensitive situations?
Are you a good record keeper?

In order to ensure every cat deserves second chance of a happy and healthy life, a new owner and home environment need to be carefully selected.

You can help by becoming a home visitor for Guildford and Godalming Cats Protection!

As a home visitor, you will visit potential adopters in their home and offer them helpful information on basic cat care and the type of cats that would be suitable for their needs and environment. You will also work closely with other volunteers to identify suitable matches based on the information obtained from home visits.

'We feel our volunteering helps go towards finding a loving home for another homeless cat.' - Helen and John Mole, Downham Market Adoption Centre.

We welcome applications from all age groups and all areas of the community and are keen to diversify our volunteering workforce.

This role ideally needs a deal of flexibility with time commitment dependent on demand for visits.  Own transport is also essential.

The average home visit takes approximately 30 minutes and there is a follow-up visit 4-6 weeks after adoption to ensure the cat is settling in and everyone is happy with the arrangements.

We will provide full support and training to ensure you are confident in carrying out home visits.

If this is a role that you would be interested in, then we look forward to hearing from you!
